The room has 5 pool tables, house cues on the rack, and the same rate whatever time you walk in.

Most people here call it billiards rather than pool, and it is the same thing — the tables take 8-ball and 9-ball, the cues are on the rack, and nobody minds which you play. Half-hour slots from two in the afternoon until five in the morning, no membership and no minimum: book the table for as long as you want it, and the time is charged by the minute when you finish.
